[answered] MGMT20144 Management and Business Context Term 3, 2016 Cour
Hi everyone,
I'm currently writing an essay with the following guidelines and marking criteria. Recently, I have been sick and couldn't spend enough time on finishing it and prior to this assessment, I had a report and a quiz to focus on. Right now, I'm really stuck and I feel like I've made a mistake in the beginning of my essay and I might have to rewrite it. But it is due in 15 hours and I'm panicking so much.?
Please, if anyone can give me some ideas and advice as soon as possible, I'd be very grateful.

Understanding Management and Business Context
Due date: Monday 19th December (Week 6) Weighting: 30% Length: 1500 word essay Referencing: Author-Date Style (APA) Objectives
This assessment item relates to course learning outcomes numbers 1, 2, 3 and 5.
Purpose
This is an individual assessment task in which students will examine critical issues related to
business and management context. The purpose of the task is to assist you in gaining a
greater understanding of the internal contextual factors that impact on a business and the
way that decisions are made in an organisation.
Before starting this assessment please read the marking criteria (in a separate document)
and refer to other resources provided on the Moodle site for this course. Description
As Masters students, you are required to engage in research as per the Australia Quality
Framework (AQF) guidelines. Two specific requirements need to be considered. 1. Students
need to demonstrate ?a body of knowledge that includes the understanding of recent
developments in a discipline and/or area of professional practice, and 2. Students must
demonstrate "knowledge of research principles and methods applicable to a field of work
and/or learning?.
This unit has a number of required weekly readings in terms of academic texts, journals and
business publications that represent the appropriate body of knowledge and recent
developments referred to by the AQF. In order to demonstrate the ability to engage in
appropriate research, students should read and utilise these texts and journals and
publications. As Masters students, you are expected to research beyond this minimum
standard through additional texts, journals and studies to demonstrate an ability to engage
in independent research. Details
You are required to select an organisation that will help you to illustrate your understanding
of the concepts and theories discussed in topics 1-5 of this course. The organisation you
choose will also be the subject of analysis for assessment task 2, so ensure that you can find (and appropriately reference) a satisfactory amount of information regarding the
organisation you choose.
You will then prepare an essay that demonstrates awareness and understanding of the
concepts and theories discussed in this course in relation to the organisation you have
chosen. The course coordinator has prepared a video that explains the requirements of the
task in greater detail, along with several other useful tips about the assignment, and this
video is available on the Moodle site.
The marking criteria is also provided on the Moodle site as a separate document; however,
in summary, your assessment will be marked based on how well it addresses the following
areas.
Students are to demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter by: Defining key terms and utilising the theories and concepts presented in topics 1-5
Ability to explain major domestic and international contextual factors and how they
affect business structures and strategy.
Demonstrating a breadth and quality of research by using a minimum of 12-16
academic sources.
Correctly using of the APA in text referencing system to correctly citing academic
sources. These are the minimum requirements as outlined in the marking criteria. However, students
should note that satisfactorily meeting the minimum requirements will typically only result
in the minimum pass grade being awarded. Higher grades will be awarded for students that
exceed these minimum requirements. See the marking criteria for further details.
Your attention is drawn to the University?s stated position on plagiarism. THE WORK OF
OTHERS, WHICH IS INCLUDED IN THE ASSIGNMENT MUST BE ATTRIBUTED TO ITS SOURCE (a
full list of references must be submitted as part of the assessment).
