shown. The rod is mounted to a pin joint at A. The bag then strikes a block of wood (also having mass M) resting
on a wooden floor, also as shown.
Knowing that the coefficient of resitution between the bag and block is e =1/2 and that the kinetic coefficient of
friction of wood-wood contact is ?k= 1/4, determine expressions for the following:
1) the velocities of the bag and block immediately after the collision
2) the energy lost in the collision
3) the distance the block travels after sliding is finished (the distance between positions B and C)
